Shocked at that news. Absolute hero for me growing up as a kid supporting United. Gutted. RIP

Tragic. Great memories of a fantastic keeper in one of the all time best united teams.

Great keeper. An even better person. Thoroughly enjoyed watching him as our keeper, with no fears, unlike nowadays. RIP.

My favourite Utd keeper, what a shot stopper always seemed catch rather than punch the ball (value of posession). Huge part of the 87 run. Absolute legend RIP

Sad to hear about Billy Thompson, one of the best (imo) goalkeepers united had and ridiculous he only ever got 7 caps. In the UEFA cup final season he was easily the best goalkeeper in the Scottish league, but he was behind the likes of Campbell Money and Les Fridge if I remember, playing in the equivalent of the now Scottish Championship. RIP and fondly remembered.

Tremendous keeper(arguably our best ever). Only conceded 1 goal at home during that 87 run to the final (the final itself).

    RIP
