... dsr ... I'm just right of centre. Most of this current Con mob are now 'establishment' and anything but "conservative". Parliament has become a cess pit for careeists who say what their seniors want to hear. The Civil Service depends on a socialist government as they receive more perks; which, historically the Conservatives have cut back upon. The BOE is also full of not to bright figures who won't rock the boat ... which suits the WEF mobsters ...

A choice between Left and Right is an illusion and has been for some time. We're on the path of no return.

"Right wing" is now a term of abuse, "left wing" are the good kind people who will walk among unicorns and rainbows to inherit the earth. Only they won't because it's the collectivists who have been duped for the most part into compromising their health and curtailing their lineage "for the common good" and to "save the planet". They are the useful idiots, the foot soldiers for crackpots with a god complex such as Schwab, Fauci and Gates and others who tend to favour hiding in the shadows cheerleaded by the Blairs, Trudeau;s and Boris Johnson's of this world.

Whether or not there's a nuclear war probably makes no difference, those who don't make it through what's coming will probably be the lucky ones.

I realise this is all about perspective. But if you genuinely think that the current primeminister, the conservative party, the government, the banks and the media etc are all part of 'the Left Wing Establishment' then from my - and I think most people's perspectives - then you are probably much further to the right than most of the rest of the UK population right now.

I think you make an interesting point here. I was never a fan of Thatcher or Major, but at least back then the Tory party had morals and an actual ideology. They weren't things I agreed with at all, but they were convictions and they stood by them.

This current government (and by that I mean everything after Theresa May) to me is full quite literally liars and theives. Boris Johnson doesn't appear to actually have a political idealogy other than to just get back into power by any means he can. And covid and brexit (and eventually if we're not careful the destruction of the NHS) just seem to be two massive cash-grabs for the tories to give their mates loads of public money. All the while the rest of us have to pay higher taxes while public services keep getting cut back.

But I also get that the reason that it might seem like a conspiracy by 'the Left Wing Establishment' to a lot of right wing people is because it's human nature to blame the absolutely appalling state of our country on something 'other'.

Why do you think the Establishment - BOE, Civil Service, financial institutions - didn't point out their view of her apparent follies during the PM election debates ... they were waiting to see if Rishi (Establishment puppet) would win. Oh dear, the grass route Conservatives made it known that they do not want the current lefty Establishment and voted LT, ie., the rabble not playing the game … we can’t have that, can we … so a coup it has (was) to be in order to regain control for the WEF mob. Countries do not govern themselves anymore; it’s now socialism in practice.

I used think lefties were well meaning but mistaken. Then I began to think that they were well meaning but stupid. Then I began to suspect that they were pursuing self evidently crazy policies deliberately so as to destroy the stability of our society in order to create their leftist Utopia. Now their policies have become so insane that I’m back to thinking that they are irredeemably stupid and simply don’t realise that they are destroying civilisation with nothing to put in its place.
How else can you explain Net Zero, social equity, transgenderism, reparations , mass immigration and the like. If these policies are pursued to to their end point there will just piles of burning rubble in the streets in which people grub about for food, shelter and warmth.

Liz Truss is/was right opposed to left but wrong as opposed to right. I am astonished BH that you claim none of the establishment warned her about her own shortcomings; I read plenty of editorials that went down that road. And Risky Sunhat predicted almost to the day what the outcome of her foolishness would be. Not that I'm a fan of his either.
If she was such a smart operator, she would have anticipated the negativity and prepared a plan B to counter it.
I'm sorry you think socialism has invaded the establishment, but is it possible that they realise that not just a market economy will propel the UK forward but also a successful NHS and education system and a buoyant services sector?
Cheer up, we're less than 18 months from a left wing government and then you'll be able to move abroad and make dire predictions about the UK's future with its obsession of striving for equality ... of opportunity. Who knows, we may even see the error of our ways in departing the EU

Yes Sid, the NHS, education system and services sector are going really propel us to the promised land, Well it will do for the people who work in those sectors who are happy to earn a decent living from the tax payers, hard earned, but still cry poverty.
