Given that Wrexham are always looking to sign decent League 1 players, you'd expect them to do well in League 2 with their aggressive, get-it-in-the-box-to-the-big-men approach.

We play a very high line and set teams the challenge of being able to beat it. Most National League teams are seemingly incapable of doing so - or miss the one-on-ones when they do break through. However, the higher up the leagues you go, the more you'd expect to find teams with the ability to exploit that potential weakness better.

Same with the mistakes we make at the back, which more often than not go unpunished at this level but would probably result in more goals against in L2.

A lot of people probably expected Stockport to secure back-to-back promotions this year - the fact that they've lost 10 games and are only 7th suggests it's a tougher league than they expected. The fact that Hartlepool are struggling and could get relegated again, just two years after gaining promotion, also seems to suggest that.

The counterargument to that is that Barrow and Sutton are both just outside the playoffs on what you'd imagine are pretty small budgets, so how good can L2 really be?

I would say every argument you could throw at Notts for not being successful in league 2, you could throw at Wrexham.
Wrexham seem to go behind in far more games than us but normally grab late winners.
Against better teams, who are more defensively organised, they would find it harder to break them down once they park the bus.
My gut feel is we’d both be around the top 8.
LW has had a tremendous start to life at Notts and really couldn’t have done much more.
That said we’ve only played two games under him where we’re not out and out a better team on paper. It’s going to be interesting to see how we compete consistently against teams with equal ability and fitness.

I could see us in the top 5 with a good shout for automatic, Wrexham would be in and around the top 7 also.. its amazing what a good manager can do with players...just look at Stevenage.. I know Evans isn't everybody's Cup of tea but he has turned a bunch of relegation scrappers into a team fighting for the title...we can't underestimate what LW has done this season.. into February and still only 1 league defeat and that was a rather unlucky one at that. Let's hope we can see how we fare in league 2 for real next season 😃

Lost to Dorking on a plastic pit h, pushing to win and hit on the counter. Lost to Coalville playing a reserve team, put some perspective on it
