Thread: 106 points?

    106 points?

My grandson quietly looked at last night's Championship table, scribbled some notes and said, "What do you think granddad?"

    Win 12, lose 2, draw 2 = 106 points and Champions.

    Not bad for a 7-year-old I thought.

Very good and he could be spot on with his prediction. I'm going for 116 though

I worry a little about your grandson BT, god bless him, he must be thinking this Burnley supporting lark is great fun. I hope you're gently pointing out to him that it's not going to be like this every season, there may be trouble ahead, in fact there will be, as you and me both know full well.

How you prepare him for the future disappointments that following a football club brings I have no idea, at the moment we are too good to be true, but at his young age he likely doesn't know that, it must seem perfectly normal to him. I can remember Wolves putting seven past us at Molyneux once, I was much older than your grandson but I was in a state of shock for days afterwards, I didn't think such things could happen to a team as good as we were back then.

He sounds clued up to me, BT. However we won’t need that many points to get promotion. A handful of wins will be enough from the remaining games to get us back up to the promised land. I admire your grandson’s optimism. Get him to make more predictions on here as the season draws to a close. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I keep telling him sinkov next season he will not be singing, "To the Burneelee 3-0, to the Burneelee 3-0!" but he won't have it!

He told me on Sunday over lunch, he had watched MOTD on Sunday morning TV and we would thrash that lot.

The lad will learn mon ami. I have tickets for Millwall next Tuesday and going he's with us on his half-term break, so we will see what happens in the Lion's Den!
