feels unlucky and I don’t think Bournemouth deserved three points but we played poorly in the last half hour. First time under Lopetegui that we played worse as the game went on.

I said it was a potential banana skin. We had so much possession but we could not break down the Bournemouth defence. For several years now we have struggled in theses type of matches. Huddersfield and Burnley spring to mind.

In the second half once the visitors had stolen a lead they proceeded to waste time at every opportunity. Players going down injured and getting up just as the physio arrived. Not walking off at the nearest point. While on one occasion a player went rolling around as if he had been shot, as the referee approached he immediately got to his feet and took the free kick. Their goalkeeper also played his part in the blatant time wasting. The weak referee was letting them get away with this cheating. Along with all the substituting of players they must have wasted at least ten minutes, but only six extra were played.

As supporters we pay to watch ninety minutes of football but we certainly did not witness that in the second half. It is time that independent time keepers were put into place like Rugby.
