Surely China would not be that stupid as it definitely would be WW3. If China sided with Russia trade with the West would take a massive hit!

Horrible people. Just arm the Ukrainians with long range ammunition to retake the land what’s their own including Crimea! Sonmuch messing around and now is the time to go for it big time! Countries like Hungary, Turkey and India need to decide where they stand in this too!

Two authoritarian leaders with similarly narcissistic personalities. I hope that my assumption that Xi Jinping ( though no more likeable) is more circumspect holds out.

The spy balloon thing has not helped but Jinping has held off on doing much more than the odd sabre rattle over Taiwan partly because he knows the response from the US, Japan, Australia et c would be stronger than it has been over Ukraine but also because so much of his country's wealth is derived from Western markets.

Hope he remains wary of aligning himself too much with Putin as this would pose an obvious threat to both Western interests and global stability. I personally think that if the West ramps up support for Zelensky in order to help push Russia out and Putin is seen to have failed in his ambitions this would make any alliance between the two less likely.
