Yes you see a different game and should change name to Fox .

Build ups are pedestrian (even I can play at that speed) and with absolutely zero finish or purpose.

We dont even stick Centre backs up the park with 10 minutes left and one down. there is zero game plan.

It is a little weird that a lot of folk moan about the pedestrian nature of our attack when compared to the title of this thread. 😂

I'd honestly feel happier if we gave the gloves to one of our outfield players on Saturday rather than ever see that useless f*cking Aussie c*nt ever take to the pitch in a United shirt again!

So long as its not Cudjoe of course

Ends up being punted up to Fletcher , problem been the same for ages , balance of midfield not right , there is no option for the man in possession so he has to go sideways or back , there are no midfielders getting up in support of or going beyond Fletcher , how Fox can’t see it I don’t know

We are far too direct from goal kicks. Really frustrates me that we go long to Fletcher. When we get it down and pass it we look much better. Difficult to break through teams, but nothing wrong with keeping the ball.

I share shedka's frustration that we moan when we keep the ball then moan we are playing long balls to nobody if we go direct.

Tempo is key, playing back and sideways is fine to draw players out of positions and create space. Much better than trying to force a hopeful ball to Fletcher or in the channels to nobody. We only need to be slightly quicker moving the ball and we will be more incisive. That comes with confidence. To think fans don't play a huge part in confidence is foolish. We have to be prepared to be patient and accept the players will not be perfect. Encouragement and support will help more than our (completely understandable) frustration being palpable on the pitch.

Sibbald is to me that can help set tempo. Harkes in fairness can do that too. Genuine question (not beginning to know the answer) How many points have we got when Harkes has not been playing?

There is no question in my mind that when Harkes is playing we are better. He was in good form before his injury, unfortunate.

Taking goal kicks short is fine but a repeat of Saturday just can't happen. I'm still raging thinking about it. 😠

I think everybody is on the same page here! We do pass the ball nicely and are capable of playing some decent football...but we do not have the pacy/direct players that could make a difference. Everything that we do breaks down in the final third and we end up trying to miss out the middle men and punt it to Fletcher out of sheer frustration. This rarely works though as we don't have the pacey midfielder/ striker that we can play off Fletcher...so he is left isolated! All of which...has been obvious for a few seasons and has never been addressed! The closest we got was Watt....who we are paying to play for another team! We offer nothing in the final third..and the only way of scoring seems to be a penalty or a midfielder brave enough to take a shot. We don't have the right players in but what I would like to see is the midfield being a bit braver and feeling that they can move the ball forward and take a shot no and again. The midfield getting a shot away might prevent the defenders feeling that the only way to get a goal is to bypass them. Football isn't that difficult. Score goals and don't concede them easily....the two things we seem to struggle with!

Harkes was better playing in that free flowing forward role, and I agree we're missing his energy in that role. And willing to go past Fletcher. Lacks the striking experience to link with Fletcher though.
But definitely would be better than the 16 year old laddie who is nowhere near ready imo.

Edit to add.... the fact that I think we're missing Harkes in that forward position just sums up what a total clusterf*ck of a situation we're in.
