Olive lounge want £10 per person on booking. Is this normal int UK now?

They did this when we booked. Wasn't normal but it is worth it as the food was very good

They take it off the bill anyway but there aren't many covers so they need to charge the deposit - The Tapas is decent but go early.

Gaslamp isn't worth the money - It looks great and the insta generation love a photo in there but it is all surface and no substance.

I haven't been to The Garrison but only heard good things about it.

Been to Garrison a few times. It's good but tiny. Doubt you'll get in for a party of 8. Seasons is nice, but maybe a bit 'posh' if it's alternative to the chippy you're looking for. As others have said W is okay (going on Tuesday as it happens) but probably booked up for Friday already.

If you really wanted fish and chips Whitbys at Catcliffe seems well thought of. Even further away than Rancheros but only 5 and a half miles - taxis?

Prob good seven seas is closed frog. Some poor reviews of late. I can back scum on rancheros. Amazing restaurant and well worth the few quid taxi ride
