Morning fellow arabs.

Just a few random comments.

Fox sacked and we were happy but most agreed that as long as Asghar was there it wouldn't make much difference.

Then lo and behold .probably the most hated man in United's history was gone. (was he pushed ?). Maybe Mark Kerr after the League cup final.

Euphoria set in and along with the news of potential new owners we were on cloud 9.

But it didn't last as our quest for a new manager was set in motion.
What budget they had is unknown to us. Could they use the Soutar money ?

Although he hasn't managed in a while Levein was the outstanding choice of the posters on here.
And would almost certainly have united the support.
But he distanced himself for his own reasons and how well he would have done we'll never know.
Was it financial or not clear what role he wanted or was offered.
Irrespective he would still have inherited the same squad that Fox had to work with.

Lennon's name was thrown in but apparently not interested.

Martindale. Certainly doing a good shop at Livi but unlikely we would pay compensation.
How would he have done.
Football world is littered with managers successful with one club but fail at their next.

Owen Coyle. Again compensation would probably have ruled him out as well.
Should be noted that he resigned as Ross County manager when they were bottom of the league.

And now we have Goodwin.
Clearly an underwhelming choice who has split the support.
Not surprising based on the Darvel result and how it finished at Aberdeen
But he did OK with Alloa and St Mirren and we can only hope that he can bring something of that to Tannadice.
Can he be any worse than Fox.

It's personal choice for each supporter whether to support him or not and whether to go on Saturday.

Would we have been better offering it to Crawford ? Mulgrew ? The tea lady ?

All we can hope for is that he gets the new manager bounce and we actually put on a performance to give some hope for the rest of the season.

Personal opinion, as a pessimist, is that it's too late too save this season but we'll have new owners and a new structure for next season
