Jim McInally on Sportsound today was speaking about the Asghar era at Tannadice and was saying that Micky Mellon was not happy being told that certain players HAD to be included in the squad because we wanted to showcase then sell them.If that was happening to Micky its FN certain that Tam and Foxy were told to do the same.

It's a certainty I'd imagine. It probably explains why they all wanted to leave so readily.

Always will remember the "premiership ready" comment about Hoti that i think came from Melon. Dont think many of the Head Coaches had much choice in who they were provided with right from signings through to the team selection with few exceptions.

Anyone else having to do a double take that this guy has actually left our club?
It's quite incredible how fast things happened. Ogren says, he's my guy, says nothing is changing, next minute Fox and Asghar gone. See ya.

One thing I feel good about is that even if we go down we're going to be in a better place recruitment wise. Then I'm thinking, are we?
Asghar may be gone but the recruitment guys haven't, so it leaves me wondering who is going to set the recruitment policy going forward. Hopefully no more "Internationals" and more really good hungry young players that fit well into a team.

The 'Manager' since we now have a Manager and not a Head Coach? A lot will depend on what happens in the summer and whether we go for a DOF or not.

If Goodwin stays it would be nice to think that he's going to tell the recruitment guys what type of player he wants and maybe exactly who he wants instead of the boot being on the other foot. But as you say something will likely change in that chain of command.

Been suspicious of our recruitment for a number of years and all i have seen this season has not helped answer any questions i have. I do wonder if there is anyone who can categorically say that player Sibbald was a good signing by Ross, cause i can confidently say 3 in Birighitti, Eriksson and Niskanen are poor recruitment targets.

Im sure someone will come back with the "final say" excuse, but the evidence is there this season that players were brought in and sold while coaches were not in place.

Now that Asghar is oot, i am content to allow the process to continue to the point of ownership changes and allow them to modify the background staffing. The only problems i foresee is if Goodwin doesnt stay on with championship football ahead and a similar manager cannot be recruited.

I have to say though that i dont have a proper understanding of the difference between a Head Coach and Manager, suffice to say that i think a manager sets the criteria, where a Coach is given some of his targets, but the majority come from the likes of Asghar which has failed spectacularly for us.

Signing players because they have won awards in their league is a bs statement. Niskanen we lost out to a German club and yet we signed him a short time later from said club, they must have been rubbing their hands. This academy is bs as well. Years ago we had good players playing trying to get into the first team, look at us now all punted out on loan and we are left with next to no options. All these coaches or Ipad specialists were recruited so we could get some accredited status and a lot of utter sh!te that has turned out to be. They need white sticks and a phucking reality check the frigging lot of them.

And they let the best young player at the club leave for nothing to Hearts (ALLEGEDLY).
