What a strange thing to do.Leave Burnley to live in the Bahamas,Cayman Islands,Jersey & Switzerland. You must be really looking forward to
getting back to your roots now as you have presumably retired.

Some people do really have a hard life.

My first and only visit to Switzerland was in 1965, we went to Milan to watch the Inter v Benfica European Cup Final. On the way back we stopped off for a few hours in Lugano, my abiding memory is of buying steak and chips in a restaurant. It was excellent but it cost me almost a week's wage. I haven't been back since.

I retired in 2018 but some clients wanted to carry on using my services - I am self-employed now. 65 is too young to pack it all in, especially when there are bills to pay and money to be made!

I am not surprised about the cost, sinkov. It is all relative and earnings are high here. When my wife are in England a meal in a good pub with wine is about CHF85. Here it costs us around CHF300. That is for nothing special.

However, the country is well maintained, everything works and the Government is tight-fisted. Money is not p*ssed away.

I'm not knocking it Swiss, we had plans for a holiday near Lake Como a couple of years ago, but the Covid put paid to that. We may still get there yet.

That sounds a bit like I'd love to visit Edinburgh but we are staying in London.
