    The 53-year-old joins as Stuart Kettlewell’s number two in the dugout and will begin his role immediately.

    Impossible to tell but seems the profile of a good appointment and a learning from recent errors.

    I remember him as a good player, but did not realise how unlucky he was with injuries. More relevant from our point of view is that his CV shows a good level of experience in coaching and assistant managerial roles. Looks like a good appointment - let’s hope he contributes to helping the team ease away from the relegation end of the table. We are still in the relegation battle, although better placed due to the last three results.
