    Luton v Swansea

Where are our next points coming from is the question after poor results on home turf to bottom half clubs Birmingham and Stoke, and gaining lucky points against Blackpool and Rotherham.
Now we play top six sides, 6th Luton away this Saturday, home to 3rd Middlesborough the Saturday after and away to 5th Millwall the following Tuesday.
If we can’t beat the bottom sides what chance have we got against the top sides.
Head-Coach Russell Martin has admitted we are in a tough moment after Tuesdays draw against Rotherham - “We are low on confidence and there’s a lot of anxiety in our game. We concede a rubbish goal and we don't have any real period of sustained pressure in their final third. The lads dug in and got a point tonight. That's not the standard we want. We need something to kickstart us again."
Meanwhile Luton drew at home to Millwall in a top six clash, also on Tuesday night, and will be hoping for an easier time against struggling Swansea.
In the reverse fixture last August, Luton beat us 0-2 for their first win of the season after five matches. Since then manager Nathan Jones has left and was replaced by Rob Edwards last November.
Let’s hope this “kickstart” comes soon for Swansea.

In the circumstances we find ourselves in surely we have to go back to basics.
Stop this suicidal passing out from the back and hoof it upfield when under a high press.
Be quicker passing the ball and be more direct.
If the senior squad have lost confidence then try replacing them with the more enthusiastic fringe players, they can’t do any worse.
If the captain is incapable of leading the players on the field give someone else a go.
Ashley Williams would have got these players fired up or else, shame he’s not still playing.
A senior pro like Ryan Bennett would have given us more stability at the back, but he didn’t fit in Martin’s plans and was released earlier in the season.

    Rob Edwards pre-match comments -

"If we play with our intensity, our fans will make it a real difficult place to come for any other team and they’ll certainly spur our players on”

    FT: Luton 1 (Morris 39’) - Swansea 0
Just the one goal, but still another defeat as we plummet down the table to 17th.
Three wins in twenty one games, a shocking record.
No surprise that the goal was another Fisher mistake, fumbling a low cross.
We are paying a heavy price for the owners refusal to strengthen the team in January and only bringing in an inexperienced Academy goalkeeper as back up to the calamitous Fisher, after first choice goalkeeper Benda was injured and out for the season

We are not Swansea City anymore, we are now called ‘struggling Swansea City’ in any article you read.
This bad run of results has gone on so long we are looked on as cannon fodder by opposing teams.
Russell Martin and Luton’s assistant boss red-carded at the end of the match after a clash between staff of both sides.
    Things are getting desperate.
