This is apparently the actual one! I can't think he needs the money! I was going to see Peter Gabriel (IMO Genesis went downhill following his departure, I blame Phil Collins!) but the prices put me off. I don't mind stretching to £50 in a place with good acoustics and not a million miles from the stage but £120 and above in some godforsaken arena doesn't do it for me. Having said that Waters is at the O2, but I have through good fortune got seats near the stage and it hasn't cost me too much.

Believe it or not, may 9th although by the amount of coverage BBC are giving it you’d think it was this weekend. Still, it’s something they have rights to that they can push like mad til the lionesses have another game

There's been a few concerts we thought of attending but when tickets start at 80+ and go up to a few hundred sheckels in a football stadium (with a roof....).

The 3 Waters' concerts are in the Ziggo Dome which holds 17000 and has decent accoustics as it's a purpose built music venue. Standing is €92.50. Cheapest seats are €106.40 plus service costs. No thanks.

If you want anything Floyd related, Swales mention The Saucerful Of Secrets is imo the way to go

I’m always amazed at the variation in prices. Last year I looked for Elbow tickets and found a massive (45%) variation according to which ticket agency I went through. Made no difference ultimately as it was the only personal thing that Covid got in the way of last year, but at least I’d had the foresight to insure against being unable to attend.

On the subject of ‘tribute’ acts (sort of). I saw the ‘Story of the Kinks’ and the ‘Carole King Story’ not so long ago, more bios than tribute acts I guess but they were both brilliant...as good (almost) as the real thing. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about Fleetwood Bac.

Prices for big acts these days are ridiculous, of helped by the increasingly industrial-scale touting industry. Listen to yesterdays Call You And Yours for an example. I’m lucky I guess that most of what I see live is acts on their way up or on their way down.

Best tribute act? Dr Feelgood, who should’ve good because they are their own tribute act

It is indeed, to discover early Floyd which I had rarely heard played live I was very impressed with the band, Syd Barret was a genius if a little flawed poor chap. Some brilliant musicians including Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet, fame, a **** hot guitarist and Guy Pratt a very good bassist.
