Looking at it simply if we can get 49 points that’s 3 more wins (not saying it’s easy) that’s 6 wins for Huddersfield currently 31points Blackpool and Wigan just 1 point better
So that’s 6 wins they need Blackpool and Wigan have only won 7 each all season
Those 3 are going to have to show promotion form just to catch us
I know you don’t want to tempt fate and I know it’s a very simple way of looking at it
I think we can do it it’s just the injuries are killing us just hope we can get some bodies back for next couple of games

    2021/22 38
    2022/23 ??

2016/17 seems an exceptional year but I guess there must be a formula to work out what this year will be given the stats we know after 35 games.
Looking again, that number for last season 2021-22 is misleading as it doesn't take into account the -12 for Derby and -6 for Reading so without those it would have actually taken 47pts to survive.

At this stage, this season in terms of the top 2, playoffs and mid-table points are very similar to last season so I'll reiterate, I think around the same number of 47 will be needed (or maybe 48 as this season there is no Barnsley/Peterborough who only had 24/22pts after 35 games compared to Wigan/Huddersfield 32/31).

The league this season is definitely not as strong as previous seasons, one really good team,3 or 4 decent ones, and not much between the rest, including us.
But we have been doing well against the better teams, and we are on a good run at the moment,I can see us getting 50+ points which should see us very safe......which is nice !

So which one of the teams at the bottom do you think are going to hit playoff form to relegate us ?
