Ian Wright has said he's not doing it either in solidarity.

Fuck me, What he said was right-the language the Government are using is similar to 1930's Germany and, even if you think he shouldn't have said it, it's the staggering hypocrisy that gets me. He was allowed to criticise Qatar's human rights when presenting the World Cup coverage but as soon as it comes to human rights here then he's censored? And that's before you consider some of the pro-Gov't things posted by folk such as Alan Sugar and Karen Brady-who are paid by the BBC-have posted without cunts like Lee Anderson demanding they resign.

I know we've got a mix of political leanings on here so it'll be interesting to see if people are for or against Lineker based on their party preferences.

He should be allowed to post his opinions like anyone else, whether right or left wing. Motd is for football and a presenters’ political point of view is irrelevant to that programme. If he expressed a political view on MOTD then that is entirely different, but he didn’t.

I wasn't impressed with his use of language. I really wasn't.

However, he has the right to say what he wishes, particularly when other stars of the beeb have said stuff.

It has to be equal rules.

I think he should of said what he said but I don't think he should of compared to Nazi Germany.

Can't disagree with that, seems to me he used his "celebrity" to push his views. He knew exactly what he was doing.

My point is, though, the BBC have one standard for Lineker and another for, say, Alan Sugar who can say what he wants against Labour politicians while being paid by the BBC,

He was encouraged to talk about Qatari politics before the world cup, by the same organisation who now tell him not to be political.
