How quickly things change , the Wigan fans were dancing on our grave following their promotion back to the championship and our subsequent relegation .

The truth is Wigan Athletic are a small Lancashire nothing club residing in a town more famous for Rugby League , Northern Soul and a George Orwell book .

They've lived above their means for well over a decade and when there's nobody willing to bankroll their club anymore they implode .

Run sustainably Wigan are at best a league one club but clearly the fans find that an uncomfortable truth and blame everyone else including ourselves when they inevitably financially implode .

Beautifully put, you have summed them up perfectly & what they can never understand is that when they got relegated it was down to them , they decided to cheat & it cost them yet because we stayed up & they dropped we somehow got the blame & you are right with the way they gloated about our relegation was pathetic & hopefully Karma does its job with them eventually ending up back in the Conference.

Normally when clubs are doing this, I say it's not the fans fault and I feel sorry for them etc.
But this is the pathetic few thousand Wigan fans we're talking about here, so bring it on ehh, they deserve all they get!. 😄

Wigan Athletic has, with immediate effect, been deducted three points from the 2022/23 Championship table after the Club failed to pay player salaries again in March 2023.

The Club had previously been charged and sanctioned for failing to adhere to the terms of the Standard Contracts that were in force between the Club and its Players in the months of June 2022, July 2022 and October 2022.
