    Millwall v Swansea

Millwall away Tuesday 14/3 19:45 and Bristol City home next Sunday 19/3 12:30 before a two week International break for the European Championship 2024 qualifiers (Croatia v Wales Sat 25/3, Wales v Latvia Tue 28/3).
Then we resume League action, it’s the big one, the bubble match away to Cardiff on Sat 1/4 15:00.
Two teams above us and in top form to play before the break, first up Millwall.
The New Den is never an easy place to go, now even harder with our dramatic loss in form.
Last home match Millwall lost 2-3 to Norwich by an own goal but they recovered to beat Reading away 0-1 last Saturday, a penalty giving them the 3 points.
They sit in 6th place in the table and will be anxious to hold on to that play-off place.
For Swansea it’s nervous times with just 3 wins in the last 22 games.
There have been moments in the last two matches where we’ve played well offensively, second-half at Luton, first-half Middlesboro, but our defensive weaknesses have let us down once again.
In summary, hoping for some much needed points but realistically expecting none.

    FT Millwall 2 - Swansea 1
As well as a crap defence we can’t score either.
The usual defensive mistakes early second half, calamitous goalkeeping again, but the statistics say we should have won this game easily?
    M 24% possession, 9 shots, 3 on target, 2 goals
S 76% possession, 19 shots, 11 on target, 1 goal, how can that be?

Steve Kaplan, our owner-in-chief from across the pond, gave us the dubious honour of his presence at the match tonight.
Why didn’t he allow us to get an experienced keeper in January with Benda out for the season, Fisher’s confidence is completely shot, it was yet another mistake from him for their second goal.
We only have a young inexperienced back-up to call on, Sorensen, but surely he can do no worse than Fisher?

Big disappointment with those statistics and not at least drawing the match.
