No, got acquainted to the warm weather around 30 C. So its to low temperature as yet ,this time of the year, (my pc says 18 C ,but that is cold !) I am out enjoying things when its around 30 C. I can get this 'Card' here at the railway station, to be used free on all transport. Whilst it being free, I can travel anywhere ,I can take the train, (2 h and 30 mins ) and start in Jerusalem ,with breakfast. Interesting place. In April I will start to travel!

I lived on Crete for 4 years (hence my name) and loved the winters more than summer (too hot), no tourists and mild weather most of the time. The English girl should have stayed on, definitely better than winter in Manchester.

I'm thinking of taking a hell of a 10 day all inclusive holiday ideal on offer for Crete in mid-April k_c. We have never been before - what do you think?

My wife says I need some rest and recuperation following the op. I'm tempted.

    .

nothing in the report informing us what was said, so now we're left to "assume" the offensive remark....?

wasn't she sent an abusive message about this time last year....after she called the the Con's "Scum" ?

just out of interest.....I have it on good authority that as long as the verbal abuse/threat comes with an implausible condition - then you can say whatever you like without fear of prosecution.

e.g : " I'm gonna flucking **** your flucking *** **** **** and smash your **** into bits 'while carrying a six ton elephant on my head' you ****"......or "while a chicken lays eggs in my ear you cnut " etc etc.

obviously, saying nasty things isn't very nice....but if you do, then follow the above guidance and you'll be ok.

For chilling I'd go to Elounda, it's not over developed and you don't get the p!ss heads like you do in Malia and Hersonnissos. You're also an easy bus ride from Aghios Nikolaos (the lagoon) and in the opposite direction, Plaka (Spinalonga- the leper colony). You're also in a sheltered bay. I went there on holiday and ended up staying.

I'll bear that in mind next time I write to Boris, thanks Norder.

Reth is at the other end of Crete but a good place, interesting castle, great beach and handy for the war graves if they interest you (German and Allied) at Souda Bay. Our favourite restaurant is there too in the old bit with the narrow alleyways, it's set in an old building which was just a shell, they've added mezzanine floors and a retractable roof, the food is great and they sell local beers. I'll have to check the name even though I was in there last summer.

Me and Mrs Outwood took our first overseas holiday together in Crete kc. We were there in 1992 staying at the Hotel Dias in Rethymnon. We toured Souda Bay. Later trips to Crete took us to Chania and Maleme. The capture of Maleme airfield was critical in the German invasion of Crete. We have fond memories of our times in Crete. It would be the impetus for all our later travels round the Greek islands.
