Everton being made an example of

The PL have referred Everton to an Independent regulator to establish if they have broken any FFP rules

    between 2018 - 2022?

This act in itself is cowardly in my eyes from the PL, its like saying they want someone else to make the decision

even though we all know the truth. Leeds and Burnley are pressing this and i can see why from Burnley's point of view

as they went down and a points deduction for the toffee's would have kept them up.

We all know Everton used covid to excuse their £371 MILLION pounds loss when everyone else's losses were a fraction of that

but this is where FFP needs to be rigid. You cannot investigate a breach of the rules years after the offence THEN

impose punishments surely. What about Burnley, they have already had the relegation, lost millions in revenue etc

Its a slippery slope this like,

PL not conducting their own investigation
    Points deductions pending
A club already relegated that would have stayed up
A lengthy law suit to follow from all parties

    Aye

Tanya is right though, it'll also mean that the Prem will use this to justify everything else, saying it shows we do act when needed etc.
