    O/T The Hairy Bikers

How the flip did these pair of so called cooks ever become popular? They've made loads of programmes and yet they have no cheeky humour, zero personalities and both are so hairy that loads of their hair drops into the food as they prepare it. Mind ya loads of cooks are grating, like that fat pasta bloke genarro

Graham Kerr was at least a personality with an original format who would sometimes appear half sloshed drinking sherry whilst presenting Galloping Gourmet. The closing of the show would involve Kerr inviting a housewife out the audience to sit with with him while she ate the food he had prepared - which generally consisted of pastry, margarine butter and a tub of lard. She would love it of course but while Graham Kerr is still well and truly alive one must wonder whatever happened to the housewife after that feast.

Keith Floyd was another personality who practically drank and smoked himself to death working to establish himself whilst Worrall Thompson preferred getting his produce for free from supermarkets.

The late Anthony Bourdain was was another more interesting character. Found his "Kitchen Confidential" quite a good read. Could be a k nob but at least an entertaining and knowledgeable one!

When cooking its always best to have an implement in each hand so you can stand back and toss everything together and you definitely cant eat chicken without cumin and remember - nearer the bone the tastier the meat.

I watched a tv cook on good morning the other week, he was cooking a joint of lamb for mother's Day. The size of the lamb alone would have cost about fifty quid, then he added all the sauces and vegetables.
My gran always said of the tv cooks that anyone could be good if you had the best ingredients, a proper cook can make nourishing meals from next to nothing.
She worked in service from when she was a young girl in the early twentieth century and lived with us until I was 15. Her cooking was the best I have ever tasted in my life.

The fat-tongued tw@ t that is Jamie Oliver has a series out where he supposedly makes fantastic meals for less than a pound a portion.

    Absolute bo))0cks

He makes stuff that you need a teaspoon of this and 100g of that and breaks the cost down in this way.
Sorry d!(khead but we don't all stock chickpea flour and asafoetida in our larders.
If we actually went out and bought all the ingredients he uses it would cost a fortune.
