    Obituaries

Does anyone else read the local ones to see if anyone they know has pegged out?
    It's probably an age thing.

Nah. The old Hatched Matched and Depatched thing is a thing of the past now I imagine.

My dad did. Every night he would sit down to his tea with the Mail propped up in front of him and every night it was the first thing he looked at.

I had to check only the other day whether the elderly bloke next door was dead as I hadn't seen or heard of him for 6 weeks. Sure enough the obit notices on the internet confirmed he'd snuffed it 4 weeks ago and the relatives had had him burnt. You can also go on a GOV.UK website and for a small fee you can look at their wills and what was left in em. I doubt he'd left me anything though because we fell out years ago because he made more noise than a pub on a Saturday night. Its quiet now though.
