How did they get round the fact that last week was the last date for player registrations?

I'm a bit confused as to how this is allowed now too. Unless they signed and registered him before the deadline passed, but have chosen to only confirm this now as he's likely to start for them tonight? That's my guess...

It will be a bit awkward for him on Easter Monday. Chances are he'll be playing against his former employers in only his third game for Woking.

WOKING have confirmed former Southend United defender Kacper Lopata will be with them for the rest of the season.

It is understood Lopata has agreed a deal with League One side Barnsley and will officially join the Tykes at the start of July.

But until then Lopata is free to line up for Woking and could make his debut at Barnet tomorrow night.

Woking are currently third in the National League standings and host Southend United on Monday April 10.

Lopata made 44 appearances while with the Shrimpers but handed in his notice at the start of March after a ‘serious breach of contract’ which saw him having to wait an additional 28 days for his January wages.

Blues have lost all six of their matches since Lopata’s departure.

But he still needed to be registered by the deadline last week, this is an FA deadline, EFL clubs now can't sign free agents either so how has it been allowed? Either a loophole or Woking are in for a nasty shock surely?

I'd imagine the deadline is for transfers and loans only. Refusing to allow free agents to play would be some sort of restriction of trade and would probably be illegal under UK employment law.
