    Cardiff v Swansea

Finally we eased the pressure with a welcome win and three points against Bristol City. It had been a disastrous run of results with two wins in 23 games since we beat local rivals Cardiff 2-0 last October after they’d had a player sent off early doors.
Which leads us on to talk about our next fixture after the two week International break which coincidentally is the return battle at Cardiff this Saturday after a two week break.
The Bluebirds v The Swans is always a big match but this time there’s a lot more riding on the result.
Cardiff are in big trouble, 3 points and a game in hand over Huddersfield who are third from bottom. Swans are not out of the woods yet though, a seven point gap between us and Cardiff with that game in hand over us.
There are teams in worse form than both of us though. The form guide tells us that QPR are in free fall with 8 defeats in the last 10 games and just 3 points above Cardiff. Mind you we aren’t that clever either, with 7 defeats in the last 10 games compared to Cardiff 6 defeats in 10 games.
So all to play for this weekend.

No surprise to anybody that it’s our defence that’s let us down so badly this season, with 57 goals conceded and still 8 matches left to play.
Just 4 teams have conceded more - Reading 58, QPR 59, Blackpool 58, and Wigan 59, and all are struggling at the bottom of the table.
We needed a right wing-back last summer, was still needed in the January Transfer Window and will be needed as a priority this summer if we’re not to be fighting relegation again. Also a left wing-back as Manning is leaving end of contract and we won’t pay him enough to stay.

Controversial to hear for some Swans fans - I want us to win on Saturday but I don’t want Cardiff to be relegated as I enjoy the derbies so much and it is a Welsh club after all. Just as I hope Newport and Wrexham rise up to compete in the Championship with us as we are very few in numbers.

Well boys, another double and our turn to score a late goal, all season we’ve conceded late on in matches and dropped points.
I think Cardiff would have been happy with the draw but a final splurge from us put paid to that.
Two wins in a row for the first time since October.
12 points from the play-offs, 10 points from a relegation spot, if Benda hadn’t have got injured, if we’d strengthened in January, what might have been.
