Yes it is doubtful, because we live in an imperfect world, and I agree with you...it’s a massively complex problem that requires some untypically joined up thinking from the World’s leaders. At the moment though I think asylum seekers account for around 0.5% of our - the UK’s - population so there’s maybe a need for some clearer perspective to replace the current hysteria.

Anyway I've had chicken eggs for brekkie, jolly good they were!!
IF I was directing that at someone who was suffering mental health issues or senility or indeed at such people generally then yes you'd have a point. I'm more than confident OTR has a full set of marbles and it seems you are ether unduly sensitive, which is of prerogative, but your right, but as I said, it seems that offended you more than the content of OTR's post, which IMO speaks volumes.

One last point and I'm done with this thread, you avoided making any judgement on the basis its complicated - but actually its not. We have the current situation because this government have failed, either through incompetence or deliberately, to manage the processing and assimilation of refugees in a timely fashion leading to the backlog which is costing the taxpayer millions.

If they had spent that money on resourcing the processing of claims then we wouldn't have this issue - other countries have taken in far more than the UK and not had this as a problem, we somehow managed to deal with a sudden influx of Ukrainian refugees so it can be done.

I agree the whole refugee, migration issue is complex, but resolving this matter is straightforward, but this government seems determined to weaponise it and some folk seem happy to go along with that.
