Wrexham lose £3 Million in first year of take over

It was to be expected that they would show a loss as the new owners acquired the ground and the club lock, stock and barrel.

Add to that the wage bill that had tripled bringing big names in on their last hurray but it all failed at Wembley last season.

Looking at their figures though they do look mighty encouraging. What they need to do now is burst onto the league scene and look to aim higher and good luck to them.

"The file, sent to Companies House, showed the figure was down to a surge in player wages and football costs"

So then, just another club trying to buy their way to success by overpaying crappy footballers hoping to get promotion.

So how is this any different to all the clubs in the Championship that you have been calling cheats by massively over spending.

It’s interesting that the BBC article refers to the money as loans. What happens when the Yanks get bored with their new toy and want their money back?

a123, incorporated into the loss was this which was a very sizeable chunk, remove those figures and it looks hell of a lot healthier and why shouldn’t they buy up the club and freehold in its entirety if they wish to progress? And yes, other clubs are cheats.

“ Wrexham AFC said within the year to June 2022, the firm gave a loan of £3.67m to the club, which included the funds to buy the freehold of the Racecourse ground as well as £1.2m of investment in the form of shares””

    Does anyone make a profit?

    Wages are just too high.

Some of the players wages at Wrexham are eye watering for non league

So what happens when the Yanks want the loan back and there is no liquidity in the football club to pay it because they are paying well over the odds in player wages to play non-league football.

It’s cheating pure and simple and is no different to what Chansiri tried at Wednesday and is still happening at the majority of the teams in the Championship.

Football stopped being a fair competition a long time ago and it is now all about how much you are willing to spend to cheat.

That's why Mullen went to Wrexham, he knew that he would score goals in the National league, & get
a good pay day for doing it.

Yet for all this investment they still haven’t won anything and this season is by no means a done deal for them
Really poor returns on what they’ve put in
Best they’ve had is playoff defeats
Lots of hype and no substance
