Breaking news, I actually predicted the correct score for the first time this season!!!!

On a serious note, it was another very good performance by the lads. I thought Brentford showed more than Chelsea, so the performance was even better than a week ago. Early on Brentford started to try and waste time as they had done last season, but the Costa goal put paid to that. When the whistle went to start the game, the visitors as always, had a point but as soon as the goal went in they had nothing and they had to come out and play.

We needed a second because they had chances, although their main threat Toney was kept under wraps by the excellent pairing of Dawson and Kilman. Once again Hwang was in the right place at the right time to tap in after a mazy run by Nunes. The number 27 continued where he left off against Chelsea, with another power packed display. He is now starting to show why he is so highly rated by other coaches.

The midfield with Lemina and Gomes were again excellent, and as Norton states it will be a tough call for JL with Neves available again.

Costa scoring his first for the club was met with rapturous applause and he deserved it. Written off by many, he really has contributed to our survival, by all accounts, not just on match days.

Personally I think we are safe now but a few more wins to move us up the table will certainly help with the prizemoney. Leicester will be tough but twelve points from Liverpool, Tottenham , Chelsea and Brentford who all sit above us in the table., and zero goals conceaded, can not go unnoticed.

Abbo, I would feel safe in a normal season but the drop zone is currently at 27 with 7 matches to go. Feels like 2010-11 when we survived with 40 points. Normally, that would be good for survival by 3-6 points. That season we stayed up by one point. I also remember our second in back to back relegations a couple seasons later. Would have stayed up on 95% of seasons but the drop zone was really high that year.

Usually 38 points is safe. Would love to get 4 points in the next two matches and then just be able to focus on finishing a couple places higher than we currently are.

This season is a real shame because if we just scored goals at an average clip, we’d be comfortably top half.

Two more wins = 40 points. Got to be safe on that!

Just watched Ref Watch on Sky. No hesitation the foul on Toti should have been a penalty. Another one we have lost out on. One of the big six, and there would have been no hesitation. It didn't affect the result, but our goal difference could still be a factor come May.

Seen many penalties given for less. If that's not a foul, then I expect it to be called that way the rest of the season. But I'd bet within the next couple of weeks, we will see a softer penalty awarded by VAR and the inconsistency will continue to drive us mad.
