Shame the playoffs weren't in January for that prediction to be true. If form picks up over these last 3 games and we "win in" that 3 consecutive games against the Wendies is looking good though, as we'd take points of them to keep them out of auto

So updated, 2 (3) games to go. Wins tonight for Ipswich and Plymouth would be good as it should leave the Wendies looking at just a secure playoff position.

Win against Portsmouth - who have nothing to play for now - may be enough but we must assume a comfortable Peterborough win v Brizzle which may narrow our goal difference edge.

And so on to final day. We away at Wendies who hopefully have nothing to play for and may rest a few. Peterborough at Barnsley for whom the same may apply. Matching results should be enough for us. Will Barnsley chase it if they could still finish 3rd? Will SW fight to keep 3rd or rest up for 2 more games maybe against us?

Of course Bolton may blow it as well but let's presume not. That may leave Barnsley v Peterborough as MA's 3 games in a row, is it possible for two "3 in a row' sets of games?

Last two games make the previous 44 match slog sort of irrelevant!

It's too stressful to consider all of that on a Tuesday morning, might bury my head until Saturday! I can't see it not going to the final game, or even minutes.

Exactly! Last few minutes I reckon. It’s the ‘Derby Way’!

Well, for once, that went to plan. Notlob defeated at home and the Wendies demotivated

Well its certainly getting interesting, looking like Plymouth and Ipswich up, we simply have to beat Portsmouth, but can we?

Analytical error. "We simply have to beat Portsmouth", so we end on 78 points. Peterborough and Bolton win remaining two games and end on 79 and 81 respectively. We are then 7th.

Mathematically wrong but grammatically right, I think Swale was applying ‘simply’ as a turn of phrase

Indeed I was as in its a must win, but aren't they all at the moment, might not be if we win this and results go our way on sat.

Seldom right about anything and wish I wasn’t about this. The only crumb of comfort I could get is if Davies red is appealed and overturned, maybeMA will tell us the ref was right once he gave the pen
