    Referee...

Ruined today. Ok we got beat and Hendrie was an idiot.. But, 11 v 11 and who knows. Queens started off well and deservedly in the lead. Next thing ridiculous sending off and still fought back.Downhill from then though though we actually played better with 9 men.

I thought that Queens started off in really top form playing some lovely stuff and could easily have been further ahead before the sending off and penalty. Brydon short with his back pass then compounded the error by pushing their player. Clear penalty and gave the ref the question of a sending off as it was a clear scoring opportunity but not sure if others were getting back. Hendrie sending off stupid but we did play better with nine men than ten as MB through everything that we had left. Game completely changed through refereeing decisions.

It's such a shame that in the 16th minute we were reduced to 10 men. The game was effectively ruined by the referee's decision, and surely a booking at worst was merited? Technically, he may have been correct but it was an extremely harsh decision so early in the game.
As for Hendrie , he should be fined heavily for letting down the entire team and the 1000 or so souls who paid their money to come and watch their hame team on an unusually cold day.
Wee Lee should have been left on at half time as we struggled to make any headway against a stuffy Montrose side, but remarkably, when reduced to 9 with half an hour still to play, we played incredibly incredibly well.
I've come away from Palmerston this season many times feeling a lot worse than I did today at full time, because the team played their hearts out.....so well done guys.....apart from Hendrie!

As for the referee? I've seen him perform like this in reserve and under 18 matches and he thinks people pay to watch him and hear his whistle....sadly we don't and once again he spoiled what could have been a great game.

Very disappointing afternoon despite a really bright start but one wee bonus would be that Mr Bartley sitting in the main stand while serving his suspension would get a better / different overall view of how the team performed and maybe who to keep or move on before building a new side for another campaign in Division One.

We paid the price for two pieces of poor decision making. Bryden just has to let the striker have his chance the angle was narrowing all the time. Hendrie never regained his discipline after being fouled by McAllister even though his second seemed a bit soft to me for a red but like Bryden he gave the referee a decision.
Our first was a great header from a superb Lee Connolly cross. I wonder if we could not have persisted with Lee as a wide midfielder more and worked on his defensive game. All three of his Queens managers have played him as this mythical 10 which usually leaves huge holes in our midfield.
Montrose played our 10 men perfectly. They have a lot of footballers in their team.
The nine that finished the game put in plenty of effort. Good to see McGrory involved. Where has he been. Also nice to see Morrison on the pitch after a tough season with injury.
Plenty more for the manager to think on. Brydon will bounce back fine. Not many games left in a Queens shirt for many players.
