Don't know if it's still so but it always used to be that a club granting a player a testimonial made the stadium and everything associated with it available free for the testimonial game. On top of that the player organises a testimonial committee who arrange all manner of other events such as a golf day, a ladies day, Dinners, stag nights, comic nights etc.

Financially we are in a very healthy position. Apparently, the EFL like David Clowes. The planned review will go ahead. If any club was ever going to get an easing of restrictions halfway through the 2 years, it's us. I don't expect a complete lifting but 3 things that do seem a possibility are being allowed to spend any incoming transfer fees to be allowed to be spent on incoming players and maybe a small rise in the wage cap and/or a small rise in the £8M spending limit we currently have. IMO, that's about the best we can hope for.

If we go up, I'd expect the above as a minimum in order to give us a fighting chance of survival. Some of the fairness the EFL claim to be about.
That all sounds positive! If we don't go up, it will be interesting to see how much gates drop. Particularly away games, it's been near impossible to get a ticket for a Saturday away fixture this season without priority.

Can’t see interest dropping off if we don’t go up, RS. If we’re still in L1 expectation will be higher next year with Warne having had a proper pre season and been allowed to bring some of his own signings in.
Suspect a successful L1 side is a more attractive proposition for many than a mid table Championship one and away tickets will be just as scarce for a club with Derby’s following at often limited L1 capacities.
