    Players Contract clauses?

Wonder if we have placed a reduction in wages clause for relegation meaning they would have to play in the Championship if we so desired to keep them on?

If in keeping with FFP of course.

Not that I would want to keep many of em on like but just wondered.

Nearly sure they have, not sure where I read it though.

A decrease in wages might be the only way can get them in shop window and sell them on.

Don't want another Robbie Fowler situation where we sell them on but have to subsidise the wages for numerous years.

And if there are such clauses, and the club enforced them, that's going to incentivise the players, hmmm?

So you want us to pay Bambi 80k PW in the EFL?

Not a case of wanting to pay anyone what they aren't worth, its how you interpret any such contract clauses, and what you do with them, in order to get something that makes sense. Telling a player they will be earning (say) 50% less when they play in the Championship and that you expect them to do exactly what they did in the PL (which for most of those recruited in the last 12 months is f00k all!) isn't likely to generate a positive response, n'est pas?

Simple answer from me would be, if you think you can earn more elsewhere, let me call you a Taxi!

Obviously wanting the better players to stay but if the championship is beneath them, then let them go.

The reality is if we do go down some of them will have to stay whether they like it or not, you can't sell an entire team and expect to gain promotion again.

    These guys are definitely gone:
Gnonto, Harrison, Meslier, Adams, Koch, Wober, Rodrigo

The rest are up in the air some like Sinisterra and Bamford because of injuries.

Then you've got the likes of Kristensen, Aaronson, Roca, Firpo, Rutter, and Summerville who are a mixture of just being absolute crap so who wants to buy them and a mixture of you probably have to keep some just so you're not trying to rebuild an entire new team in one summer which never works.

Even the decent players will go, Drahme, Perkins, Gray.

Who would want to play in a team where a clueless idiot is picking your team mates on a punt.

I'd rather Del Boy and Boyce be DOF than Orta.

Orta will be toast - not even he can spin his way out of this shambles
