It seems that every cloud DOES have a silver lining...

GP...your area of expertise. Are you surprised?

One does have to wonder, given the additional news about Kirchner, what the hell was going on twelve or thir**** months ago.

Who was responsible for appointing Quantuma?
What was the relationship between Quantuma and Kirchner?
Would Quantuma just have been ‘sucked in’ by Kirchner in the same way as many others?
Do we, DCFC, now have any comeback against any of the seemingly strange decisions made by Quantuma...eg the sale/gifting of Shinnie...who is, frankly, exactly the sort of player we’ve missed this season let alone for the back end of last?

    In sequence:

    1. Yes, unless it was tactical. You'd think insolvency specialists would be able to avoid insolvency. It would be nice to think that the fee write off in the DCFC case may have been in part responsible.

    2. Q would have been appointed by the board of DCFC or shareholders, but it's the same thing

    3. No idea what the relationship between Q and K was/is

    4. Do we (fans?) have a comeback - no, we have no legal or financial skin in the game

    5. Does DCFC have any comeback - no more so than we did before this news. Technically one might have a case against the professional indemnity policy of Q if there was any demonstrable reason, but I can't think that is likely. Yes K wasted a lot of time but was that Q fault? Don't know but it's hard to blame them for being taken in by a conman when so many others were too.

Best we just move on and write it off to experience. The milk is spilled, we have a responsible owner now out of the process and I don't see much point raking over the coals and becoming angst ridden all over again

I think it just confirms that the whole MM era was a case of somebody letting their feelings as a fan and perhaps the stroking of the ego as a fan who got the club in the premier league override their business brain and either ignoring the advice of others or simply appointing people who pandered to that ego rather than giving sound advice ( a parallel with how the current government seems to operate here?).

One can speculate that MM chose them as administrators, because they made promises about what could be achieved which were to his liking if unrealistic?

In any event as GP rightly says, its past, a painful lesson for the club's players, staff and fans, but it seems we have a local owner who is a fan, but who does not seek the adulation of fans and is operating with a team of advisers who know their stuff and whose advice he takes, he operates quietly and effectively with no grand promises, his actions speak louder than words. So much to be thankful for.

But all this is fake news as Quantuma LLP isn't the relevant company, it was Quantuma Advisory Limited that did our administration and is still going strong.

Looks just like a juggling of company structure and binning of the limited liability partnership.

Move on, nothing to see here

Fair enough from the two of you and almost certainly good advice.
I just remember, in the latter stages of last season, many on here being critical of Quantuma and wondering if they actually knew what they were talking about.
It seems now that they probably did and that Q were incompetent at best. For me that grates a little but, as you say, probably best to move on and be thankful for what we have now.

P.S. GP’s further overlapping qualification, as he suggests, probably puts an end to the above concerns.

Actually from the creditors, not from DCFC, Clowes et al. Presumably HMRC and MM

That sounds like they are trying to get money from people the club owed money to from the period in which they (Q) were actually running the club... to my non accountant brain that sounds absurd. No doubt one of our resident number crunchers can explain the ins and outs...
