So now forgive and forget the EFL. It was just a lover's tiff.

Not at all, Gunt. Again most Derby fans will acknowledge that ‘we’ - in the shape of our former owner - did wrong and that punishment was necessary.
Whether ‘we’ - as the fans, players and other employees - of DCFC received a fair and proportionate punishment, especially in comparison to other clubs, is a separate question.
Don’t forget...we were deducted points to the extent that last season (21-22) relegation was more or less inevitable, made to sell our assets for knock down prices and prevented from rebuilding properly despite retaining the huge support of our (innocent) fans. In those circumstances what we have achieved this season is remarkable.
There have been many recent cases of the EFL not covering themselves in glory, Bury probably being the prime example. Personally I’d like to see more examples of the stronger clubs supporting the weaker clubs but, as far as Derby County is concerned, now is the time to move forward...though not necessarily forget.

An interesting perspective, one that I do not altogether share

Did DCFC receive a fair and proportional punishment? I could argue not on the basis that the club, per se, did nothing wrong as it, despite being a seperate legal entity, did nothing wrong. it was the directors and officers who oversaw the carcrash who should be held to blame. The club as a collective (staff, supporters, owners etc) were punished by demotion, in effect, and a potential hammerblow to the prospects of quick recovery. Most of that collective did nothing wrong, whilst the director(s) may not be called to task - although clearly the biggest financial loser is the former owner who happens to have been a director.

Would have been interesting had there been a clear distintion between ownership and management

I tend to agree, given in the end it was a "technical breach of rules". I don't condone Morris's financial chicanery or his piss poor management of the club with millions wasted on average players, but the EFL are in consistent and lets not forget, derby suffered at the hands of QPR cheating financially, who then got away with paying a fine!! IMO an automatic pts deduction should have been applied when they returned to the EFL.

However, the behaviour of Boro and Wycombe rankles most, launching legal claims of dubious provenance, merely to put a spanner in the works of any take over, scandalous behaviour and hopefully they get their just deserts.
