Apparently us and Mansfield are both in for Port Vale's Tom Conlon.

Mansfield aren't a bad club to sign for if you're being objective. They're always among the favourites to go up, have a decent, well-known manager, and can likely afford to offer a decent wage. They'll probably finish above us.
Where we have the edge is the style of football we play - but that style doesn't suit everyone.
I think when players sign and bang on about how big a club we are, they are mostly paying lip service. The same players would likely sign for Harrogate Town if they offered more money.
They certainly aren't a bad (L2) club to sign, and of course money talks but that wasn't the question.
Maybe Mansfailed are paying a lot more in wages than we are for the season ahead, I don't know. If they aren't it's not even a question, objective or not.
