Harkes and Pawlett getting contract extensions is not how you are going to create openings. Goals win games with them in the team you get a lot of running about and diving, creating chances not so much. A winger that can't cross the ball. A striker isolated upfront. Fullbacks can't stop crosses coming in. Centre-halves can't do the basics like blooter the ball out of the danger area. Throw-ins, freekicks and corner kicks are more like an advantage to the opposition. Drop Edwards great but still continue with the Aussie in goal.

It has been over a long time ago, we have just prolonged the misery.
