I wonder if some of that is down to Ross and fox not developing them well enough? Or if they just aren’t good enough or ready. Often think of the young midfield that played against rangers at Ibrox last season couldn’t have done Worse. Now we are chuckling young guys in desperate, and half our young players are out on loan. How can we not produce one technically efficient midfielder to sit in front of defence rather than wasting money on djoum. I haven’t seen enough of our young players to proper judge/commment. Guys like the young centre half that went to villa and McLeod looked thrown in for selling on purposes as much as developing for first team, and not always looked ready.

But yet 2 of them thought the squad was fine. JR is on record saying you do not need a defensive mid because all midfielders should be able to defend like he knows something that Pep, Klopp and all decent managers don't. Fox is on record saying he told TA not to sign another striker as he didn't see one as being the type we needed

We have actually scored more goals this season than we did last season finishing 4th but we somehow managed to make sure this became a problem as well by weakening our goal scoring ability in January window, reducing our score rate to under a goal a game.

The main problem is we have conceded 20 more goals. That is partly down to the defence but if we had a more reliable keeper behind them I don't think the confidence levels would have dipped so low. Without the obvious goalkeeping errors I don't think we would anywhere near the bottom of the table even with our poorly performing squad.

Not bringing in a keeper and a striker in January (or at the very least not sending out our other striker on loan) is a totally self inflicted easily avoidable fck up by management. We can talk about managers tactics, formations etc but if you cant rely on your keeper and a create a threadbare strike force you are going to have problems.

I think this proves the ****e keeper and lack of cover in front of the defense are the obvious problems. All the defenders were here last season what's changed is the keeper and midfielders.

The big change is total lack of confidence in the goalie. Last season the players expected Benji to save the majority of shots. This season the team look on in horror expecting every shot to go in / even simple tricklers.
