The info i got about Mulgrew wanting a 100 grand pay off came from a guy who said we are signing a new keeper and Walton arrived the next day.

The info i got about the exciting candidates being interviewed when The Big Man was actually on a Portuguese sun lounger also came from the same boy.

I think too many people are trying to look for reasons for our predicament out with the simple fact our squad was imbalanced, most of the squad we had were not good enough, the manager choices were terrible and we had the worst player in not just our history but possibly Scottish top-flight history in the goal.

It makes no sense for any players behind the scenes to be causing the issues previously rumored as it directly impacts all of them. It ruins reputations, and future moves and not to mention directly impacts their actual wage on a monthly basis through loss of playing bonuses.

Just let it lie, we are where we are because we were not good enough all over the club, players, management, and ownership and that is continuing now with or without the supposed culprits from last season

Good post. We are where we are and it doesn't matter who was wrong and who was right.

Agree there were so many reasons we got relegated, maybe Mulgrew was a part of it he certainly cost us some goals last season and remember thinking at Sunderland game this could be one season too far for him.

Also apart from the GK situation Edwards as Captain seem to be a huge factor too. His general look of confusion at the 9 nil game rather than demanding and organising those around him was criminal. He just looked defeated. Captain should have screaming and demanding more from those round him. Even if he didn't have the pace to cope.

So many individual errors all over that defence all season that never got addressed. But also the exposure of the defence with no CDM.

It's just mental nothing was done in Jan and those that strengthened around us clawed there way out of trouble. It's prob clear noone trusted Asghar and wouldn't sign for him. Especially given what Levein said even after he resigned.

I know we need to move on lol...

You are correct of course no point dwelling into the past, the only thing i would add is my criticism of Mulgrew,Asghar and others did happen in real time and not in hindsight. If PT Arab had not posted about Mulgrew i doubt i would have either he is dead to me as a United player.

I know there were various factors but simply put, address the goalie situation and we stay up, the team wasn't THAT bad compared to others

Walton looks decent, early days though

With a midfield of Harkes Levitt McGrath and Sibbald, an ex Scotland centre forward, we won 8 (eight) times in 38 starts.

GK relegated us but that team didn't help.
