How we can currently definitely line up in 23/24

With players out of contract still not committing here is how we can currently line up for next season….we could update it as players sign contracts or new players arrive, could be fun?!

    In a 3-4-2-1formation

    GK - Brooks

    RCB - Brindz
    CB - Baldwin
    LCB - Chicks

    RWB - TAR
    CM - Bostock
    CM - Palmer
    LWB - Jones

    CAM - Austin
    CAM - Scott

    ST - Macca

    Subs

    Morias
    Bajrami
    Munakandafa
    Mohovo (?)

Fairly solid to be fair but not a playoff pushing squad. Ruben and Cameron signing would obviously help but I think we’d still be pretty light on quality.

Someone says that about him every season... sooner or later it'll be true I guess

So….a few more new signings so I’ve adjusted the line up accordingly.

    3-4-2-1

    ……………………Slocombe

    ………..Rawlo…….Baldwin…….Chicks

    TAR………..Palmer……….Bostock………..Randall

    ………………Scott………….Jones

    ……………………...Macca

    Subs

    Austin
    Bajrami
    Morias
    Munakandafa
    Mohovo
    Brindz
    Brooks

    ……………..

    Waiting on -

    Nemane
    Cameron
    Rubeniho
    O’Brien

That’s 22…..we know another keeper is going to come in, making it 23. Would that squad be enough to put in a decent challenge next year if everyone signs?

I'm hoping/praying for some good news on this front this week.

I could kind of understand if Rodrigues opted to go to a club like Derby, even though I genuinely think he'll get more opportunities and make more progress with us.

If Cameron and Nemane left I think that would be more of a snub, because they both owe a great deal to Luke Williams for their success this season and the raised profile it's given them, and I suspect if they chased short-term money at other clubs and had to prove themselves from scratch in systems and with coaches/managers that might not suit them, they could end up back where they started before long. Their best prospects and our best prospects are surely served by continuing the journey with us, with a head coach they know and trust who appreciates them.

I hope Jim O'Brien will sign, whether it's purely as a player or a coaching role too, because again he couldn't develop his coaching credentials under a better leader and within a better framework.

It would be really good to emerge from the summer with the promotion winning squad intact and further strengthened by a few more new arrivals like Randall.

    That's looking pretty decent

Brindz just turned 30 a month ago, it's no time for him to be moving the bench.
I hope he can rediscover the form that made him a first choice. I still think he's got a ton of potential and other levels he can reach. Hope he can show us and himself before he starts to decline.

Yes me too….it was an odd season for him last year. He didn’t start off great and then got injured (were the two related?). Thought he was starting to show signs of the player we know towards the end of the season though.

Looking a bit light in backup for Palmer and Bostock. Bajrami needs a big season and JOB….well, who knows how much time he has left, he keeps surprising us!
