PL 2022/2023- Final table after fixtures of 28/5/23.

Please check (and, errr, let me know, like!) for any errors and/or omissions

    Table is in format:- poster/previous total/weekly score/new total/status.

I will run through the results of the PL Dash separately, but the matches for the 2022/2023 (our 20th!) league have concluded and, barring any mistakes on my part, the final table is shown above.

There were sixty points up for grabs from the final ten Premier League games and, with (our) PL title, european and relegation spots all hanging in the balance, this was more interesting than many of us hoped.

All-conquering Ozwhites (OxxxEEOxEx) scored a fairly modest 24 points (36 were needed last season) using just five fixtures, including the exact scorelines at Selhurst Park, Goodison Park and Old Trafford. He also thought Arsenal would win and Leeds would lose, which the latter obligingly did in spades. Meh!

Deklufc (OxxOExxOOO) and Silentman (OxxxOEOOOx) scored 21 points to share the weekly second spot, but withjust Dek edging out Silentman in terms of the separate Dash competition.

In terms of the final league table, Ozwhites left it right to the end, claiming the 2022/2023 title by 3 points over Silentman, with Cherrypie7, coming in a close third.

Ozwhites is the official PL 2022/2023 winner

For the complete record, there were three draws, so any Strike One (Whitestomper45), Two or Three posters scored nowt for their lack of effort and Johnny_Default ends the season on one hundred and twenty points.

    The results:-

    (P) Arsenal v Wolverhampton Wanderers (5-0)
    (P) Aston Villa v Brighton & Hove Albion (2-1)
    (P) Brentford v Manchester City (1-0)
    (P) Chelsea v Newcastle United (1-1)
    (P) Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest (1-1)
    (P) Everton v AFC Bournemouth (1-0)
    (P) Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur (1-4)
    (P) Leicester City vWest Ham United (2-1)
    (P) Manchester United v Fulham (2-1)
    (P) Southampton v Liverpool (4-4)

As a traditional (pointless!) observation, this is the top of the final table for "fixed" entries.

    One-Nil / 210 / 24 / 234
    Two-One / 201 / 27 / 228
    Nil-One / 219 / 3 / 222
    Two-Nil / 195 / 18 / 213
    Three-One / 192 / 18 / 210
    Three-Nil / 186 / 18 / 204
    Three-Two / 180 / 18 / 198
    Four-Nil / 177 / 18 / 195
    Four-One / 177 / 18 / 195
    Four-Two / 177 / 18 / 195

Many thanks to those of you who took the time to bother to enter and, assuming there's still a Leeds United at the close of summer, the 21st version of the PL competition (with this corresponding Dash at the end) should start again later this year!

All the best! Stay safe! All sulking, aren't we?!

I would ask for a cut, but I basically took this over from MightyLeeds many moons ago, so can’t claim any intellectual property rights!

Carrying on something great is far wiser than trying to reinvent something new.
