It’s an absolute disgrace that the old stadium was destroyed, if it was poor structurally then it should’ve been rebuilt as an exact replica.

Only the English FA would obliterate such an iconic stadium, can you imagine the Brazilians destroying the Maracana?

The new Wembley is an abomination, a hideous monstrosity…….the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff puts it to shame.
May sound like i’m showing off when I say i’ve been to the Maracana 😂 - what an amazing stadium it is. I saw Flumenise v Flamengo. However this was the new maracana I saw back in circa 2014, not the old one. The new one is great but nothing compared the old one based on what i’ve read. The new holds 78k.. the old one held 200k or so. It had to go because of number of deaths each game.. we’re talking at least 1 each game due to the safety. All in all, agree about old wembley - the older stadiums always hold that great atmosphere that new ones can’t.

No and no. I'm doing my son's garden. If I wasn't I'd be doing mine.

It has changed over the years, all in all I’d say no, clubs and people don’t give a f**k. Maybe a bit better recently, but that is then from ”zero interest levels”.

Yes I will be watching it purely because it is on at 3pm on a Saturday which is when all FA Cup finals and for that matter league games should be played. Not ko 5.30 on a Sunday or whatever stupid time and day they decide to accommodate Sky etc.

Too true Manny, that's the same reason I didn't renew my ST, Saturday 3pm is football time. Do you remember working on a Saturday afternoon to produce the Argus with all the results in it?

Nope. I get so hammered with “top six” clubs ads that I have a complete mental block from anything they do.

Loved working the Argus. Took great delight shouting 1 down the cream when those bits of paper came zipping down those little conveyor belts or the lamson tubes. Next best thing to going to the Albion. Worst part as an apprentice was trying to avoid Frank touching you up while he was giving you the 5 bob tea money.
