Thread: Maatsen- is he worth £20m ?

Word from my usually reliable source is that VK has switched his focus on signing Sergio Gomez who he knows from their joint time in Belgium.

£10 million price tag sounds bang on too!

He's played for Vinni in Belgium, he's playing for Vinni's old club and his best mate Pep now, he's half the price of Maatsen. All the ducks in a row, what's not to like ?

Shame if we lose Ian, but full-backs are like London buses, you miss one, another one comes along right after it.

Without looking it up Alfie, I think this is the last year of his contract. Stick or twist?

I'd stick BT,as I like him.good attacking left back who can cross a ball is always a decent option ..Unless somebody offered a price for him that would be silly to refuse.

Left backs or wingbacks don't come cheap, Newcastle paid 20.8 million for Targett plus a 4yr contract at a salary of over 5million and he spends most of his time on the bench. Money may not be the root of all evil but it will ruin football as we have known it unless some kind of salary cap is put in place.

That's what happened in the NFL, it does make the playing field a bit more level.
