I believe they will be going on a jolly soon, and then back again for the serious stuff. Besides they've to get Foster up to speed somehow, and that might take a while.

Perhaps VK thinks it's better to not to let the fitness level sink too low before you try to bring it back again to the PL level. When Malcom Allison was coaching City in the Mercer era they did their tactical work when the weather was good because this involves a lot of "standing around". Just wondering!

Vinni knows what works, better doing a bit light work down Gawthorpe than propping a bar up in Marbella. Vinni virtually didn't have a pre-season last summer, they went in flying by the seat of their pants, there may be an awful lot he wants to work on yet.
