This would have been excellent if I was home.
9 year old grandson lives in Blackpool and I am going to miss a good dayout with him .

Blackpool a short hop on train from Preston, plenty accommodation, might be pricey given its holiday time though.

A train strike has been called for 22 July, so anyone hoping to get there by rail must think again.

Seems like we've sold our 1200 allocation now ?

    I'll v getting there for opening time. ( 10.30/11am )

So where do we congregate ??

There are a couple of pubs right by the Railway station. And some folk have spoken " highly" of the Black Swan on Friargate , in centre of town. ( It's a Robinson's brewery bar , so plenty of pushy strength ales....and perhaps Old Tom. Barley wine , ooeerrr )

Plenty other places though. Fa's goin , an fa's fir a bevvy ???
