Good news with captain Matt Grimes extending his contract to 2027, ending speculation about a Southampton move.

Twenty goals a season will be hard to replace.
Has our club become the graveyard of ambition to satisfy our owners lust for profit? We can’t keep a manager and we can’t keep our players.
It seems we are back to square one every season, selling our best players to survive, spending our time integrating “on the cheap” players into a new system with “just passing through” managers who jump ship at the first interest from other clubs.
The five year struggle to regain our Premier League status now looks further away than ever.
In fact with the erosion of talent every season and replacement with lower league players that’s where we will eventually end up.

It’s pretty depressing Estoban, one step forward and two steps back.
We are a selling club, Wood is next, with Southampton calling.
Eventually there will be nothing left to sell and we’ll drop to League One.

Rats leaving a sinking ship comes to mind as departure number 8, the long term injured Benda, is confirmed.

And in another massive boost Nathan Wood is still here. Southampton failed to meet our valuation of the player.

Nathan Wood and Charlie Patino have been called up to the England U-21’s
