    Giant Strides

Whatever you think of veganism, it has to be admitted that Forest Green are ahead of the game. Firstly their policy re: diet; then the sustainable building approach to their stadium and now the appointment of a woman as caretaker manager/head coach. It is only a temporary post as acknowledged by the appointee herself but it is a gamechanger.
There will, of course, be those who will be desperate to see her fall flat on her face. Unfortunately we are stuck with those dinosaurs for the time being. Whether she succeeds or not is not necessarily relevant but the symbolism of her appointment is immense. Best of luck to her!

Forest Green Rovers are not a club I am fond of in any way but I agree entirely with your sentiment and I hope she does well for them. You are spot on about a certain element of society wishing her failure and they will be dragging their knuckles on the ground until their dying day.

Great decision there and snippets of the ladies matches I have seen online, they are miles ahead of the men/kids/boys with individual footballing technique.. I suppose she will have to give the match tactics talk outside of the dressing room though..That could be a problem with weak voices...

I too attend a lot of women's matches and I really enjoy the show of skills on display. So far, not much 'simulation' either, they just get on with it. At the moment tho' the crowds are not as 'involved' in the game. Ah well, swings and roundabouts!

I agree with everything you say re FGR. Pity that their new stadium will be miles from anywhere with no public transport and so everybody will need to use cars.

Although the club say they will have a subsidised bus service from Nailsworth and Stroud, in addition to buses from the nearby rail stations. But yes the plans for parking for 1700 little polluting machines (cars) does seem a little counter-productive!🤔
