    Ex Manager

One thought.....2 years ago we signed Madger Gomes (!!!!), this close season, we've signed one of lg2's better players. World's apart!
Set me thinking, I wonder if the bloody awful recruitment is a main reason why Artell is still out of work.

In his defence, I think Gomes was a last ditch signing after the upheaval of the Earl part of the season. But yes, looking at the situation with Griffiths, Trigger, BSD and the extension debacle with Sambou, there were some obvious clangers.

And just throw in Macfadzean, Harper and the 2 who retired before we even saw them, and he has an awful recruitment record.

Although, in his defence, he did recruit some good players. Dan Agyei being one

You're right tbf, but something is keeping him out of the game for so long when, on the face of it, he should tick a lot of boxes for a lower league club. Any longer out of the game and he's a forgotten man.

Perhaps his 'anger issues' are still remembered. Inside Crewe this month is interesting reading. Specifically the Kenny Lunt article, where he refers to being 'disappointed' at the manner of Artell's changes in the management structure. Kenny says he was not too bothered by the changes themselves more at the way they were carried out by Artell.

Yet again, the "favourite" for a job, according to the press and someone else gets appointed. Interviewed at Cheltenham but Clarke gets the job. Something doesn't seem right, 18 months out of work.
