    My thoughts on the game:

We looked much more comfortable with a back four. I hope this is something we pursue, especially against better opposition. Not only were we less susceptible to balls in the channels, it was also great to see players like Chicksen, Nemane, and Jones in their natural positions.

The formation was very fluid. In possession, the full backs pushed high up, and Palmer dropped in deep when building from the back, allowing the two CBs to move wider and create loads of triangles.

Nemane looked dangerous. Bostock was classy when he came on. Stone seemed assured. The youngsters Mahovo and Luther made a good account of themselves, and Claxton looked confident and strong.

Overall, we looked great in possession but lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Not bad against expensive opposition. There didn't seem to be much between the two teams really.

I'm now much more confident than I was a few weeks ago, and I'm very reassured that LW has experimented with alternative formations after the Stoke match. We have so much quality in the squad, it's ridiculous.

Can't wait for the season to start!

Agree. As a traditionalist it took me a while to accept, but the risk v reward has convinced me. I thought Cameron was good today apart from his error. He started a few attacks and carried the ball out of defence well.

It’s very difficult to get a very good defensive centre half who is also ball playing in NL/Div 2 and whilst KC does have a mistake in him he’s still good fitting that role and he will do for me

His error was due to Luke giving him instructions at the time he needed to be defending. Luke apologises in his interview and took the blame.

That's also my view on KC.

Excellent from Luke Williams, but I don't believe it for a minute.

I agree with your last sentence.

Last season: won 32 lost 3.

Regardless of whether it's true or not can we all agree Luke Williams is an absolute class act for basically accepting the blame for Notts conceding a goal and losing the game, what a manager Notts have.
