Best wishes to him in his future career, a huge loss to Notts but can't blame him, he's better than a 4th tier local radio commentator for sure.

Yeah looks like he's got himself a TV role on BBC East Midlands.

Richardson, our Media and Communications Manager, added: “We are, of course, very sad to be losing Charlie and his excellent commentary.

“Over the last six years he has become a huge part of the Notts County matchday experience and we know our supporters are going to really miss having him with them throughout the 2023-24 season.

“It’s no surprise to us, however, that his brilliant work has led to new opportunities and everyone at the club wishes him the best of luck for whatever comes next in his radio career.

“While we sadly won’t be hearing his Notts coverage on the airwaves anymore, we’re pleased he will be continuing to report on the club in his TV role with BBC East Midlands Today and look forward to seeing him at Meadow Lane again soon.”

Aaaah that's rather sad, but like others have said, I don't blame him at all. The man's a star.

Him and Stallard provided some truly legendary moments that I'll never forget. His passion during those playoff games was something to behold, not to mention the countless puns and jokes over the years. A true entertainer.

    All the best, Charlie!

Best of luck to the lad. Took over at a difficult time and anyone replacing Uncle Colin would be under intense scrutiny, but Charlie made the job his own. The partnership with Stall has been a good one, like Colin and Dean Yates were imo.
If anyone didn’t see this coming after last season with him moving upwards…they need to visit specsacers!
I really hope they give it to Dave Bracegirdle now. He has the “old fashioned” feel about him and for us fans of more advanced years eg over 30, we’ve grown up with that with Colin.
Although with the prevalence of iptv and the streaming of games, I’d expect more will hear him over the tv rather than the radio.

Cheers Charlie, good luck in the future. Lets hope we can get someone equally as good, and importantly forms a bond with Stal, as it is as a pair that has made the commentary of Notts matches so enjoyable over recent seasons. Also hopefully we do not get anyone who has the slightest allegiance to that lot over the river, as Dave Bracegirdle did/does.

That's such a shame, but not unexpected. Charlie deserves the opportunity to progress, he's really good at his job.

There isn't a ready made replacement. Dave Bracegirdle is very professional, but is more suited to cricket with his slow whimsical style, plus he has no chemistry with Stalls. Jake Garner's commentary is a bit garbled and he sounds nervous, especially when interviewing Clough post match after a defeat! Didn't a freelancer do some matches last season? He was OK.

Agree that interacting well with Stalls is important - that chemistry has made listening to bad games bearable, and the fantastic games even better.
