I always thought Ashworth had potential? After Carlos's comments on how much we might rely on our academy players this season we do seem to be getting rid of some of our more promising looking younger players. Maybe he sees things we can't but more likely it's a simple case of finances and given no-one is daft enough to take some of our poor but overpaid senior squad members off our hands it's going to be flog the youngsters.😞

I considered he was one of our better young prospects and worth developing at home. But as you say there must be more to it than just reducing the wage bill.

Seems like a decent prospect by all accounts. We probably wouldn't have signed him if our starting left side CB hadn't done his ACL in a pre-season game last week but under the circumstances I'm glad we did even though we don't know that much about him.
Doubt he'll play in the game with you next week unless we pick up more injuries tomorrow at Salford or v Everton on Wednesday.
That said, we let a load of last season's team go, have a few injuries and are still 4 players short in the recruitment department so maybe he'll be thrown in at the deep end?
As it stands we have a patched up midfield and strikers that couldn't score in a brothel so we're expecting you and Everton to hammer us

That apart I hope you have a great season. Baggies not getting promoted last season cost me a tenner so I'm hoping for better from you guys this year.
