Some people phoning in actually sided with British Gas saying people should go back to the old days and live without central heating.
Some people would live like they did in Victorian times and keep waving the flag at the Royals.
No chance of getting rid of the Tories Lloyd with all the sheep we have in the country.
I don't condone it but I can see it coming to social unrest and riots.
They are trying to outlaw peaceful protests as well.

We want to move onto smart meters so we contacted British Gas.

They sent an engineer who said he couldn’t do the job because we are in an area using a medium pressure gas supply and that a specialist engineer was needed.

We rang to arrange the appointment for tgis and we’re informed that because our gas and electric meters are more than 5 metres apart that British Gas won’t do the job!

We were directed to a specialist company that does these medium pressure installations and told that we would have to pay for the change whereas normally you don’t have to pay.

So although British Gas own the pipe work and are your supplier you still can’t get onto smart meters without significant cost to you yourself in our situation.

    Absolutely farcical.

Hi Mick, this would have been done before privatisation.
Every utilities customer was treated the same.

We had smart meters at the rental but the meter for the gas was not registering properly. Told even though we had smart meters our responsibility for not contacting them so they have billed me £800.

Our new property has a water meter although it did until our plumber did loads of pipework and disconnected the damn thing! Water guy just shook his head and more or less said - not my problem!

The huge increase in profits from energy companies is a massive p iss take. I hope there are riots and unrest! Tories need to get voted out! Sunak cares only about his rich friends!

I wrote on here last year that this is what these scummy companies were doing.

On the one hand we were told we are OK because we had long term contracts that pre dated the war and on the other we were being shafted with massive increases.

I know people whose business Gas rates went from 2.5p per unit to 50p (this was Eon a German or French company I think) a unit and electricity from 16p to 63p per unit (BG who I believe isn't UK anymore but I cannot recall who owns the parent Co centrica) and all because this c??t government didn't have anyone watching what was happening like I suggested they should have, like they created a position of a brexit minister.

They didn't do that because they are all greedy tw@ts who don't give a fk what is happening and instead introduced a the reduced rates for all from 1/10/22 to 31/3/23, in effect shafting us all with higher taxes that are needed to pay for it, instead of watching these companies like hawks.

It was absolutely genius to sell our family silver to companies abroad do that they can switch off out lights whenever they choose.

But, who cares as the bg shareholders are getting more dividend from these near billion half year profits and that is what the tories give a fk about after all.

Starmer has not got the balls to do anything about it as well. He won't promise a windfall tax so they had it all taken from them based on what they made the year before the massive increase plus 10% for inflation.

Anyone know who is on the board of directors for British Gas/Centrica?

Now can you imagine what goes on behind the scene with Ofgem and pricing? Corrupt to the core. This genuinely makes me sick.
